Our Wedding Photography Style: How We Shoot Weddings in Las Vegas

Every wedding we photograph in Las Vegas is a different story: a chuppah under the desert sky at Red Rock, a ballroom reception at Caesars Palace, a quick ceremony at a Strip chapel followed by portraits under the neon. Storytelling first

A wedding album should be more than a collection of pretty pictures; it should tell the story of the day. We photograph like observers, not directors: the moment a father sees his daughter in her dress, the grandmother who cannot stop crying under the chuppah, the friends who lose their voices during the hora. We anticipate the key moments, from the ketubah signing and the exchange of vows to the cake and the last dance, so the gallery reads like the day felt.

Composition: using Las Vegas as a backdrop

Composition is the backbone of any great photograph, and Las Vegas gives us backdrops no other city has. We frame couples against the Bellagio fountains and the columns of Caesars Palace, use the leading lines of the Strip at night, and take couples out to Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire and Seven Magic Mountains for portraits with open sky and desert color. Inside a hotel ballroom we look for symmetry, chandeliers and reflections; on a rooftop we wait for the moment the city lights come on behind the couple.

Light: from harsh desert sun to neon nights

Lighting decides the mood of every image. The Las Vegas sun is brutal from late morning to mid-afternoon, so we plan outdoor portraits for the golden hour and keep ceremonies at 4 pm or later whenever the couple has a choice. After dark the city becomes our studio: mixed neon, fountains and hotel facades, balanced with our own off-camera light so skin tones stay natural. Indoors we work with the venue's stage lighting instead of fighting it, and we bring backlighting and silhouettes into the dance floor coverage.

Bridal and couple portraits

Portraits are the one part of the day we direct, and we keep them short and relaxed: twenty to thirty minutes for the couple, ten for the family list agreed in advance. We photograph the bridal portraits in the getting-ready suite while the light is soft, and we build in a second, shorter portrait session at sunset or under the lights of the Strip. Couples who want more time book an engagement session in Las Vegas before the wedding, which also makes the wedding-day portraits faster and more natural.
